Maysan oil field tail gas purification project in Iraq
This project is located at the Phase III wastewater treatment plant of the Maysan oil field water plant in Iraq, with a design gas volume of 2500m 3 /h, H2S content of 1000ppm, and a design pressure of an atmospheric pressure system.
The project uses a supergravity self-priming method to collect the hydrogen sulfide-containing waste gas emitted from the water plant, and uses supergravity enhanced absorption to purify and remove the hydrogen sulfide. The purified waste gas is then discharged into the atmosphere through a chimney.
The project adopts a fully skid-mounted mode, with two sets of supergravity absorption systems, one in operation and one in standby, along with supporting electrical control systems, instrument control systems, and exhaust systems, all integrated into a skid-mounted unit.
The project was implemented in March 2021 and delivered and put into operation in October 2022.
Since its commissioning in October 2022, the project has maintained a hydrogen sulfide concentration in the discharged purified gas of ≤5mg/m 3 , achieving the goals of resource recovery and compliance with emission standards.
